Seventy-five years since the first Florentine performance, the masterpiece by the German composer based on the popular folk tale by the Brothers Grimm finally returns. In a curious contemporary setting, we will relive the adventures of the two protagonists  grappling with giant animated puppets. sweets distributors, and machines for making sugared almonds.  A legend of belcanto, and of the Rossini-renaissance, the tenor Chris Merritt will appear as the Gingerbread Witch in a mysterious disguise, to be revealed!

Per il Teatro Goldoni, a Firenze, l’Opera di Firenze e il Maggio Musicale Fiorentino presentano l’opera HÄNSEL e GRETEL, di Engelbert Humperdink. Ai bambini che interverranno sarà regalato un libretto con la storia rivisitata, ecco qui un anticipazione delle tavole.
